Peace People

Peace People was a peace organisation established by Máiread Maguire and Betty Williams in the 1970s as a form of protest against the ongoing violence in Northern Ireland.

The women were awarded the 1976 Nobel Peace Prize and People People developed into an internationally influential nongovernmental organisation dedicated to building a peaceful world in which the highest standards of human and civil rights are upheld.

As we mark the 25th Anniversary of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement, this exhibition is an introduction to the women who worked for peace.
